The 2009 inauguration of the first Black and the 44th president of the U.S.A. Mr.Obama or some say Mr. President. He told us "Yes We Can!" and now its Yes
We Did! The inauguration was very exciting for me because I never in my life time would have guessed that this counrty would have a Black President. I am proud to be able to tell people that I was able to see the country's first Black President.
Part of me wishes that I could vote. That way I could say that I was a part of history.
Sometime soon it will be me inside one of those voting booths or maybe one day I will have the chance to make history. I dont just want Obama to be president because he's black. I watched a lot of his speeches and I was not just hearing what he said, I really was listening. I heard what he had to say about change for the country. I feel he was saying that the government's old methods were not working and he thoght that it was time for some new methods. To me thats what change meant every time he said it. Also, his plans to take this country out of the recession. I did not forget about him trying to help small businesses get back on their feet.
In my eyes I think that Obama is trying to make things like they use to be. From hearing feedback from alot of family members I think thats what every one wants.
At the inauguration lots and lots of people shed a few tears like my grandmother for instince, she was alive when Martin L. King Jr. walked. She says that to see a man from the same race that use to be slaves become a president is incredible. From drinking from a different water fountain because of your skin color to a man of that same skin color becoming president. This is amazing!
